The reason why cases keep on rising is that we’ve not come to common reasoning. Nobody is having it easy, having your nose and mouth covered for most of the day is hard and new to most of us, but that act can save us from suffering the inability to breathe without breathing aids. The simple instructions in this era are these; wash your hands with soap under running water, cover your nose and mouth and practice social distancing. This adjustment to our lives is what most of us refuse to comply with, you’re not only putting yourself at risk but the rest of us around you. The fact that you do not believe in the existence of the virus does not wipe it out. COVID-19 is real, you’ve heard it several times, you’ve watched and listened to stories of death and recovery. What makes our story sad is that in this part of the world, we had the chance to educate and awareness before the virus traveled down to us yet we’ve chosen the path of pain. Ignorance would, therefore, not be an excuse for the virus by-passing you.
Let’s protect ourselves, our families, and most especially our little ones who do not have a better sense of reasoning as we do. The story of the increase in the number of cases would change if we all comply with the protocols. It shouldn’t always be that we need to be punished before we do the right thing. From now till whenever we have the liberty of meeting in large groups, let’s be our brother’s keeper. Remember that obeying the protocols doesn’t benefit only you but all of us. If it means purchasing a piece of personal protective equipment for a neighbor, do it. If you won’t step into public without brushing your teeth in the morning, then you can’t equally go out without your personal protective equipment.
Nobody is safe and everyone can incur the virus. From now onwards, we’ve recovered from the mistake of ignorance and we’re picking up the character of awareness. Let’s keep in mind that ‘if you accept that your only job is to be the keeper of your life force, you will make powerful choices'(Debbie Ford). The choice is clear; to stay fit and alive. We hope that you make this choice too.
