When we think about street-connected children and how we can impact their lives, most of us think about food and clothes. Whiles these items are a necessity, the teenage girl on the street needs one item included in all our gifts; a sanitary pad.
Just like any other girl we know, street-connected girls have the tendency of developing serious health issues with how they deal with their periods. Usage of rags and other obsolete ways of going about their periods even poses a health risk to their peers. With both disposable and reusable sanitary pads in their hands, we’re assured that period poverty can be eradicated when we put our minds to it.
