Our 5 years began on a great note, Starlight Foundations’ contribution on the streets does not only give hope to beneficiaries but also reminds us that there is still the chance to fix our negligence on the street. Thus, all our project seeks a long-term goal of impacting the lives of these categories of people so that they do not end up in the same situations. Looking at #TeachThemYoung, Starlight Foundation has over the years joined the international voice of granting street-connected children access to the amenities that affect their lives positively. With our target being school-going children all over Ghana, these pupils have been equipped with the knowledge of fire and road safety and the need the stay off the streets. The same can be said for #LetHerKnow, the current talks on menstrual hygiene are not encouraging as many people are shying away from the topic. The great number of girls who are on their periods every day are the same people who stay back home due to the lack of healthy menstrual products. It’s therefore highly necessary for our girls not to have a setback at this stage of their lives and have the confidence to stand tall in every circumstance, thus five years have paved the way for constant education and provision of healthy menstrual products with much focus on the disabled and the less privileged girls.
For the widowed and the aged, #You’reNotAlone has paved a way to give back to these persons reminding them that they have a partner in Starlight Foundation. Not only has this been beneficiary to their livelihood, but #SaveALife has also rendered emergency response to the health and basic needs of some citizens in critical moments.
#Yenhohia has given a voice to street-connected children on their daily predicaments on the street. This representation has paved way for the birth of #MensoMekaHoBi (I’m Also Privileged), a comprehensive scholarship to take street-connected children back to school and equip their families with income-generated skills that can be used to support these children in the long term.
In the space of a healthy environment, Starlight Foundation has been impactful with #OurSanitationOurHealth, making sure our beaches are clean and our aqua system does not suffer from constant pollution.
It all ends in praise as we also end the years with #LetFeedTheStreetTogether, it’s not only about the sharing of gift items, the bond Starlight Foundation shares with street-connected children is strong and makes it highly impossible not to end the year with them.
With all these enormous impacts, we can say our five years journey is just the beginning of another journey of greater impacts on the lives of our beneficiaries. We celebrate you who have been part of these wonderful stories and wish that going forward we will do greater exploits.
