Life is full of unknowns, and nothing is definite. An average individual may not comprehend the awful agony a woman goes through when she loses her husband. This is not easy to deal with, and it requires a lot of aid to get through what happens next. Aside from the agony of their loss, some widows must cope with difficult widowhood rights, having their properties taken away, and being accused of their spouses’ deaths, among other things.
“Anyone can become a widow. There aren’t any special qualifications. It happens in less time than it takes to draw a breath. It doesn’t require the planning, for example, that it takes to become a wife or mother or any of the ritual roles of womanhood.” Jacquelyn Mitchard
We may lose physical possessions and bounce back quickly but losing a loved one pales in contrast to the anguish and emptiness caused by the loss of monetary possessions. You are sharing a future one moment, and then it’s buried beneath the ground as if it never existed. Everyone moves on, forgetting the dead, except the living spouse. The event’s untimeliness leaves them in shock, from which some never recover.
Their children, the outcome of their lovely romance, might become a burden to the living spouse and experience the disadvantages of single parenting. All of their dreams for a brighter future for their children seem to fall apart.
We usually comfort them for a short while before abandoning them to their future; after all, life goes on, but does the living spouse really move on? Today we are discussing them; tomorrow it may be someone else in the same circumstance. Include them in your thoughts; one for myself and two for the widow or widower sitting next to me.
When a spouse or partner dies, the remaining partner’s life is radically transformed. It might be difficult to know how to assist a bereaved person you care about. The “You’re Never Alone” initiative of the Starlight Foundation is to celebrate the New Year with widowed fathers and mothers.
Join us in making the celebration with these widows feasible and successful by providing a helping hand.
