At Starlight Foundation, we believe the strength of the team lies in each individual member. As the year has begun with many plans of impacting the community with all our programs, it’s important to us that members feel empowered to do more thorough intensive collaborations from all sectors. This was witnessed at the first retreat of the year where the coming together of members and volunteers brought about incredible ideas of teamwork and impact.
Also, during our yearly dedication to training and building leaders to serve, members had the opportunity to have a talk on leadership from the president of Nalike Africa, Ernest Tsifordze. He spoke to members on the need to have a mindset that attracts goals in whatever sector they find themselves in. This will be possible if they create good networks where they can collaborate to achieve a particular goal. He noted that leadership also consist of people who are willing to stand by an objective and see it come to light. It doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone needs to take up a leadership role, being consistent with the position you find yourself in and seeing results that impact a great number of people qualifies you to be a leader.
Lastly, he spoke to members about service to the community in times when many personal activities stand in the way of members committing themselves fully to the objective and goals set by the Foundation for the year. Its important members note that the impact we seek for the community directly affects their lives in many ways. Whether seeing street-connected children happy or giving life-changing education to girls and pupils, these activities will forever live a mark of greatness on their lives and their country at large.
As Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is a success.” We believe the success of our foundation from past years and the years forward would always lie in the great commitment shown by our members, whiles this is commendable, we still entreat them to be more active and call on us all to join in making our nation great and strong.
