Young people throughout the world are leading the way in these demanding actions, whether they are fighting on the streets, advocating in their schools, or directly petitioning organizations and governments. Our work for the community, children, and women, in general, would not be possible without the involvement of young people who volunteer to run these programmes and initiatives. The same can be said for all other non-profit and non-governmental organizations in Ghana, Africa, and throughout the world.
However, the youth in changing the world faces inescapable knowledge and technical gaps due to limitations such as access to resources and the necessary assistance from persons and organizations participating in achieving a sustainable world for the future generation.
Starlight Foundation’s “Youth Adaptation Programme (YAP)” is an initiative with the mission of acting as a solution broker to accelerate and scale up resilience in youth to fulfil individuals and social demands as they take action for a changing and resilient world. We believe young people have a significant role to play in finding and implementing sustainable solutions for the good of the world; nevertheless, they must also be personally well-developed and capable of scaling up to global shifts and transformations at both individual and professional levels. The initiative is open to the public, especially the youth with an interest in discovering and enhancing their career paths. While the focus will be on career development, it will not be limited to mentorship, coaching, scholarships, financial literacy, skills training and acquisition, with exchange programmes across diverse educational institutions in and outside the country.
The goal is to empower the youth through active engagement and information sharing to access adaptation resources and information. A major activity of the programme will be an online webinar which will be a free online series and bring on board individuals excelling in various fields to impact positively young people so they can adapt to the new technological era for their personal development and resilience in a changing environment.
