Nestled in the heart of Teshie, the Menso Meka Ho Bi project illuminates as a beacon of hope and transformation. This joint initiative by the Starlight Foundation and Adamfo Ghana NGO is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged youth and families through education, skills training, and a pathway to brighter futures.
Cohort 2 marks an important milestone, expanding the project’s reach and impact. Thoughtful collaborations with school administrators, local community members, and beneficiaries have reinforced our shared goals and strengthened the programme. In line with our Theory of Change strategy, we engage the community at various levels to ensure that the right individuals are selected for the project.
Our Theory of Change strategy emphasises the importance of involving key stakeholders, including head teachers, community members, and direct beneficiaries, in the selection process. This ensures that those who genuinely require and deserve the life-altering opportunity are identified and supported as a means to curb streetism.
For instance, conversations at Lekma 1 JHS allowed us to broaden our support by considering both skills training and education pathways based on each student’s unique needs and parents’ aspirations. As we sat down with all key stakeholders at Teshie Lekma Primary, we unfolded our project’s essence, goals, and mutual expectations. These interactions unveiled a mosaic of aspirations and needs, with some seeking to fortify existing businesses and others eager to embrace the prospect of learning new skills.
At Jordan Methodist, another meeting embraced stories of resilience, hope, and firm determination. Amidst challenges, we salute these parents who stand ready to rewrite their destinies. At Jordan Methodist, a constellation of potential stars emerged, introduced by the assistant headmaster. Their dreams glitter, promising transformation. As we anticipate parental meetings, these dreams paint a vivid canvas of change on the horizon.
Each interaction reaffirms the hunger for positive change. Participants see access to education and skills training as catalysts to transform not just individual lives, but entire families and communities. We are honoured and humbled to facilitate this empowerment.
The Menso MeKa Ho Bi project will continue nurturing dreams and expanding possibilities for street-connected families. As Cohort 2 unfolds, we are grateful for the chance to ignite passion and channel talent towards productive livelihoods. Stay tuned for more success stories that illuminate the boundless potential of transforming the lives of street-connected families.
