Family is the bedrock of a child’s life, providing a nurturing environment, unconditional love, and a sense of #belonging. 🏡❤️ However, for many street-connected children, this essential support system is absent, leaving them vulnerable and deprived of the warmth and guidance that every child deserves. As Nelson Mandela poignantly said, “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than how it treats its children.” 💫
The absence of family not only robs children of emotional security but also hinders their physical, cognitive, and social development. 🚫 Without a stable home environment, street-connected children often lack access to necessities, education, and healthcare, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and vulnerability.🚸
At Starlight Foundation, we recognise that the key to breaking this cycle lies in strengthening family bonds and empowering families to create a nurturing environment for their children. 🔑 Our Menso Meka Ho Bi project, funded by Adamfo Ghana, is evidence of this belief. 💪
Through this initiative, we provide comprehensive support to families, addressing both their financial and emotional needs. 🙌 By offering vocational training, start-up resources, and ongoing mentorship, we equip parents and guardians with the means to sustain their households and prevent their children from being drawn to the streets through our comprehensive scholarship programme. 💰📚
