An Interesting webinar by the Consortium for Street Children was organized on the 7th July 2020: On the care implications of Covid-19 on street-connected children. Speakers from 3 NGOs presented on and discuss the care implications of COVID-19 and responses to the pandemic on street-connected children.
They presented on the situation and context for children in Mexico, India, and Tanzania, before a panel discussion that looked at issues such as family reunification, the role informal care has played, and how governments have been addressing street-connected children’s care needs.
Please find the slides and video recording of the webinar here: https://bettercarenetwork.org/library/particular-threats-to-childrens-care-and-protection/children-living-or-working-on-the-street/webinar-recording-care-implications-of-covid-19-on-street-connected-children. Participants left many excellent questions and comments in the chatbox and Q&A and several expressed interest in a follow-up webinar so please do look out for information on possible follow-up discussions in the coming weeks.
