The Starlight Foundation is here again with a new social impacting initiative dubbed: “Y3n Ho Hia” in English: “We also matter”. It is geared at shining a spotlight and drawing attention to the current plight of street-connected children and the vulnerable in our cities that in these unforgiving times of the coronavirus pandemic, seem to have been further “neglected”.
Starlight Foundation hopes that by drawing attention to the current plight of street-connected children and the vulnerable, it can engender concern and raise the need support and resources to bring relief and care where it can.
The coronavirus pandemic has made it seemingly difficult for charities, NGOs, and the community support groups, who are usually out there helping, to offer their support to the poor, destitute, and those in need. Especially in the era of social distancing, staying at home, and an economic downturn; funds have become limited, people are not taking the risk to be out there to provide aid and the usual resources available are quite sparse.
This situation has gradually cut off that regular support and aid that is generally out there for those on the streets and in other vulnerable places.
The vulnerable are even more vulnerable and until that is addressed, we believe the negative impacts of this will go on to hamper and harm our society as a whole.
It is with this knowledge that the Starlight Foundation is starting this new campaign.
As a foundation with a track record of running initiatives that have brought food, medical healthcare, health screening, school supplies, sex education and career counseling to the street-connected children, to the youth, to students, to the girl child and the vulnerable in general under numerous initiatives; we strongly believe that our “Y3n Ho Hia” initiative is going to achieve the desired impact. We are hoping not to just have a one day or 3-day impact but a sustained one that goes beyond the individual to the whole society.
So, in line with this, the months of August to September 2020 has been dedicated by Starlight Foundation to discussing the ways and methods we can help the street-connected children and the vulnerable in our cities in this COVID-19 season. We also aim to use the avenue of discussion to inform individuals and organizations to channel their support to the street-connected children and the vulnerable.
In conclusion, Starlight Foundation is calling on you; YES you, to be part of our “Y3n Ho Hia” (We also matter) initiative.
We need your voice; we need your attention and we need your support to achieve this impact and to bring the much-needed support and aid to the street-connected children and the vulnerable.
Starlight Foundation thanks you in advance for your support in our new campaign.
