Since the inception of the Starlight Foundation in 2018, we have been representing and advocating for street-connected children for their rights to be acknowledged and respected. One of our many ways to help curb the high increase of streetism is to develop a family-support initiative which will put these young ones in school, and also equip their parents/guardians with some vocational skills for them to be able to fully take care of their wards in future after earning some income with the skills they will acquire from this project.
With funding from our stately partners, Adamfo Ghana; Starlight Foundation will be sending 10 “street-connected children” back to the classroom whilst empowering their parent(s) with some income generation skills. We want to support the family to such an extent that they can diversify their livelihood and become self-sufficient.
The drive is to support these underprivileged families living in our urban slum communities through education for them to be able to play an assertive and constructive role in the generation and regeneration of their communities and society as a whole.
Starlight is of the firm belief that there are miracles and glories in every child, and our glory lies in empowering them to flourish their glory.
